Finest Comics
Is there a magazine, preferably British, that publishes comics submitted by readers?
I might like to be a comic book creator and was wondering if there was such a magazine for newbies to publish their comics in. I know it’s mostly an American thing, which would be fine, but as I’m English it would be good if there was one based nearer where I live. Anyone have any suggestions?

Even in America it’s not very popular anymore. This is due to the internet making everything easy to access for everyone … no-one is going to pay for a magazine when they can get better content online UNLESS you are well-known.
My advice? Publish it online on your own website, start on a blog, advertise it in livejournal comic communities, get a strong fan base and then pitch it to a newspaper/magazine, or somewhere else … even a website might want to pay to exclusively feature your work. Or might ask you to do some specific strips for them.
You need a running strip, with an archive, before anyone is going to be interested.
THEN organize ideas for a comic book and pitch it to publishers etc.
