best time to cut the grass or lawn in heat wave?

im in sydney and have a week long spell of heat waves. My lawn needs a cut, its pretty long, but its going to be very hot all week! am i best of waiting for the heat wave to pass? will the long grass be protected more or will it be better off if its shorter? when should i mow it?

Cut it in early am or early evening. You don’t want cut blades exposed to high heat. It’s a good idea to water after cutting & definitely don’t cut off more than the top 1-2″. Better to mow more often than to take off the whole amount in one cutting. If you want healthy grass that is.
