For kids, I think it’s that he’s a tough guy, a smartass to Cyclops’ tightass. He’s not a bully but no one can walk all over him. Kids want to be that.
For adults, I think it’s that he’s almost an antihero. He’s been a bad guy, he’s a live wire, but he still wants to be a hero.
