Your Opinion of the Barry Bonds Home Run Ball Issue?
Is it just me or do others think this guy Marc Ecko is a complete idiot for paying $752,467 for a damn ball that he’s just trying to destroy?
I could careless about the debate of Barry and the steriod issue cause honestly, you all know as well as I do the the majority of them are taking steriods in some shape or form. I’m not condoening steriod use, but my problem is just with the fact that someone would throw away that kind of money to do something so rediculous. Come on now, you have to be some kind of fool to pay that kind of money for something and then just want to make a mockery of it and destroy it, send it to the moon!!!
I seriously don’t understand this guy! I mean that money could have put to very good use and given to charity, homeless, poor kids, college scholarships, feed the hungry,etc. That’s just so much money wasted just to do something stupid. What do you all think about this?
You’re right the money could have been donated to charity and could have helped people who need the help. I think Ecko is smart to have put the choice on the internet of what to do with the ball. It does give him a great deal of attention and publicity. For all I know, he may give a lot of money to charitable causes. Bonds is a cheater and a liar, pure and simple. Read the book “Game of Shadows”. It is not possible to read this book and feel Bonds did not knowingly used steroids following the 1998 season in which Mark McGwire broke Roger Maris’s single season home run record. Grand Jury testimony by Bonds denied using steroids totally. His trainer, Greg Anderson, is in jail now and refuses to testify against Bonds. As far as the majority of MLB players using steroids, you could be right. It is hard to say because the Players Union has opposed more extensive drug testing and there is no test for HGH. The fans are also somewhat to blame in this whole mess, as they keep going to the games and cheering for the home runs hit by muscle-bound players who have probably acheived their records by use of performance-enhancing drugs. The owners also have their heads in the sand especially the SF Giants owner, Mr. McGowan.
