Comic book question: Ion greatest green lantern ?
In the battle with superboy prime, Ion was struck by 2 lead poles. Now I know that his race is like a extension of the kryptonian race and his kryptonite version is lead. Now here’s the question since Ion has lead poisoning due to the battle with prime and the only reason it’s not spreading is due to the green lanter ring he has on, does that mean that Ion’s kryptonian like powers have been reduced because of the lead poisoning.
Daxamite lead poisoning is theoretically irreversible…it can be held at bay but doesn’t go away when you take the lead away as happens with Kryptonite.
However, GL rings are pretty plot-devicey, and it’s conceivable Ion 2.0′s ring could eventually purge all the lead from his system and fix the damage. One version of Daxam-Ion is still around as the last Green Lantern in Legion of 3 Worlds, suggesting that if nothing else the lead poisoning didn’t shorten his lifespan.
Also, Brainiac 5 developed a cure for lead poisoning for Mon-El, but it required the use of kryptonite. And I can recall at least one case where a GL ring emulated kryptonite….
