In Superman IV, if Lex Luthor could make Nuclear Man, why didn’t he just clone dogs?
In other words, you can get like $10k for a clone of a dog. People don’t want their dogs to die, etc. So if Lex Luthor could clone superman to realize his criminal intentions, why didn’t he just clone dogs and sell those and make a fortune that way and leave Superman alone?
The short answer to this question is that pathologically Lex Luthor desires to be the most powerful man in the world. He can not accomplish this feat while Superman lives, thus he needs to kill the competition. Much like many serial killers, politicians, or corporate big wigs (a fine line), their need for power can not be satiated and always left hungry for more. Besides, I really don’t feel like watching a movie about Superman rescuing cats from trees, even though that may have been a better 2 hours spent then Superman IV to begin with.
